Hey guys and gals! I never know how to start one of these bio things, so I’ll just jump right in. I turned 49y/o in April. Still not sure if I’m looking forward to, or dreading the “big five-oh”, but, God willing, I’ll get there. Like I said in my first post, I was in the Army from '90-'93 3rd Infantry 1st Field Artillery in Bamburg, Germany. Never played in the “sandbox”. I spent my whole tour chasing suds and skirts in Southern Bavaria.
I came home in late '93 and met a girl. We got married in May of '94 and we just celebrated 26 years together. We have 3 children. We put our oldest daughter through college and she now lives around Dallas, working and traveling the world. Our son is a senior in high school. He is CSM of the school’s JROTC, top 10% of his class with an eye towards college and a career in the U.S. Marine Corps. Our youngest daughter is 11 and loves bugs, furry things, feathered things and plinking with her Davy Cricket .22.
After the Army, I drove an 18 wheel tanker truck for four years until the company folded and I was forced into a career change. (I hated driving that thing anyway.) I went to school and became an EMT, worked my way to Paramedic, then to Supervisor, then to Tactical Medic attached to our county’s S.W.A.T. team. Those guys are super-fast, laser focused and if you’re a bad guy, scary as Hell! Thank God my services were never needed during the 2 years I worked with those guys (on friend OR foe). In 2012, I opened my Taxi cab company and have been doing that ever since. In March of this year, I opened my sporting goods and ammunition store. Things are pretty tough getting started, but looking up. Currently, I am trying to get my FFL and scraping together enough to pay for the AGI gunsmithing course.
Okay, I don’t know how many of you guys stuck around till the end of this loooong-winded post, but if you did, thank you. That’s about it (like it wasn’t enough. LOL!!).
