I got to thinking, I’ve got a Glock 22 .40, and have a 9mm conversion barrel for it allowing me to change calibers in under 1 minute. How cool would it be to have a Sub 2000 that had a quick swap barrel assembly allowing you to go from .40 to 9mm in under 1 minute, with little to no tools(for being able to swap calibers while in the field).
Welcome to the brotherhood, interesting idea, maybe it would work, but being that the pivot pin is pretty important I’d imagine it won’t be to quick a change barrel.
@SSG.Richardson welcome to the forum stanley
Maybe make a pivot pin similar to the ones on the old Colt SP1, just make the slot in the screw head large enough to be able to use a cartridge rim to unscrew it in the field.
Another option would be some sort of push button pivot pins such as this. If it is strong enough to support an AR15 upper it should be enough for a Sub 2000 barrel assembly(Trunnion, Barrel, and Handguard).
Probably more like the first pin. Since all the body screws hold the halves together.
