So you had to defend yourself with your firearm

It blows my mind that NY would actually prohibit it’s citizens from having any (firearms liability) insurance. Looking over the ACLDN information I see it is limited but surely better than nothing, Perhaps as the foundation grows the benefits will also improve. Two and a half years will pass quickly, well, until about the last couple months. Be thankful that’s all that’s holding you there. Stay safe and watch your six.

That 40 year number is spot on…

I hear ya. When I went to the Sturgis bike rally last year I went out of my way so I wouldn’t have to drive through Illinois.

Last time I was on the loop in Chicago (many years ago during their garbage strike) I was stuck in traffic next to an RV that was on fire! I had to go knock on the window and tell the family inside. We put it out long before the fire Dept. could get there.

Think a second Festus. NY has been competing with California (and a few others) for as long as I can remember for the award of the most f**k$$ up state in the country.

Absolutely nothing surprises me when it comes to those.

Same here. Never come to Tennessee. To many mountains, rough and every redneck has way to many guns and way to much ammo.

Very dangerous place. Scary sometimes. Everybody walking around carry guns, it’s like the wild wild west. :skull_and_crossbones: :skull_and_crossbones:

All kidding aside, it’s really a five way tie for the worst states to live in. NY, NJ, HI, MD and of course CA. With all of the socialists fleeing, we hope to reclaim CA very soon.

The 3 most western counties of MD recently met with WV’s governor to see if he would accept them if they were successful in succeeding from MD. Answer was yes and it will be brought up in the next legislator next year. Not everybody in MD is a socialist.

Not only happening in Md.

Every year there’s a proposal from someone in the western 1/2 of NY (where I am) to split the state into 2 or 3 separate states. All the political power is in NYcity and Albany (in the east) and they ain’t letting go!

Texas had embassies in London and Paris while it was a country, before joining the union. Texas is large enough that eastern/western/northern Texans have to establish which part of Texas they’re from before they understand each other.

That’s not true, criminal court findings has nothing to do with a liable suit in federal court. In criminal court, you’re being tried to determine if you had just cause. In civil court you’re being sued for causing injury or death to the person that you shot regardless of the reasons. And the civil case you will lose if you can’t show just cause for shooting someone, but it’s up to a jury to decide the award, and if they believe you were responsible for their injury or death, they can award that person a lot of money. But if the person shouldn’t have been doing what ever you shot them for, they can award the injured or dead party ZERO, NOTHING, and usually, if they were breaking in your home while you were there, they sure want be giving the criminal nothing for being stupid, and getting getting injured or killed bc they were really stupid!!!
