Elon Musk has claimed his rocket company SpaceX is planning to take CO2 out of the atmosphere and turn it into rocket fuel.

The billionaire entrepreneur took to Twitter to make the announcement, adding that the technology will “also be important for Mars”.

On Monday, he tweeted: “SpaceX is starting a program to take CO2 out of atmosphere & turn it into rocket fuel. Please join if interested”.

Maybe someone needs to inform Elon that without CO2 there would be no life on this planet. Just sayin.

Ah, he knows. He just wants to prevent others to say that his rockets are polluting the Earth with CO2.
Kind of smart if that works, storing Hydrogen proves complicated, but soring methane is not. And if our cars would burn methane made from CO2, that can be deemed “carbon neutral” and ween us of those horrid batteries.
Especially if the associated hydrogen is made by renewables via electrolysis.

Agreed, the planet has a huge amount of CO2 stowed away in different forms. Bet his rockes CO2 output wouldn’t even be measurable. :roll_eyes:
