M*CARBO Brotherhood

MCarbo Raptor Grip on my SCR Raider .50

I ordered MCarbo’s Raptor grip wrap for my SCR lower .50 Beowulf.
It’s very grippy and looks good. Hope it isn’t too grippy for this round.

Hey brother did you get a chance to take a gander at the contraption I put together with an SRC Raider lower. I put a 300 Blackout upper on it and then had a pretty Snappy paint job. I really like the way yours looks that’s a very clean looking weapon

No sir I haven’t seen it, but would really like to.

Very nicely done. I’m going to build a 22LR upper for mine.
It will be setup just like the .50, same length, optics, grips, etc.
So I can occasionally swap them out and shoot it cheaper.

A 22 plinker sounds like a damn fine time I am curious though whether or not a 22 has enough ass to cycle the action

The action on a 22LR AR all takes place in the conversion BCG, itself.
The buffer system is irrelevant on them. It just keeps the BCG in place.
In other words, it would work just fine. And be very fun to shoot.

They work really well:

@AV8R I very much agree. And as reliable as any rimfire can be.
I’m currently running two CMMG kits with dedicated 22LR barrels.

I’m planning a .22 pistol build with a folder similar to your example.
Just shopping for parts at the moment.

I’ve been running the CMMG for a couple years. Easy way to shoot up LOTS of .22LR very quickly. LOL

One thing about the mags - sometimes the follower binds up and won’t push a shell up where it can be chambered if I load all 25 rounds. I don’t normally use lube on a magazine but a shot of WD-40 dry lube lets a fully loaded mag work.

Since I don’t have a dedicated rifle for it, I put the rubber protector over the barrel end of the CMMG and store it in a length of PVC so it doesn’t get damaged when I carry it in a range bag.

Never had issues with the CMMG mags, but didn’t like them.
Now I use a Better-Mag adapter and M&P mags in my rifle.
My pistol only has a 50-round Blackdog drum, works perfect.

Same same here. I was sorta offended by the notion that blocking the bolt with a proud follower constituted last round hold open. I’d actually have more respect for CMMG if they just abandoned the bolt hold open notion till they can get it to hold open during a mag swap.

Also funny that I have a Black Dog Machine Drum for M&P 15-22 (and 10/22 which I don’t own) landing Monday. Picked it up on impulse when I was grabbing:
