That was the first song I heard of his & was floored by the songwriting & the vibe. A measuring stick for me is if I have to wipe away a tear from my eye on the first listen, then it’s got that magic. If there’s more than one track on an album that hits like that, then it’s in my rarified air club. Only a very small number of artists hit this level for me. Great stuff!!

Ok…y’all have to trust me a little bit. Yes, this is one of those songs that has a “catchy beat and you can dance to it” as Big Dick Clark used to say. Yes the singer is very cute and seemingly a tad coked out, but think of the era. The draw here is the back-up dancers. If I’m wrong…let me have it in the comments section.
