Very eclectic musical tastes there @Phoenix! I appreciate all the slide guitar influences. Goes to show how good guns n guitars go together :guitar:

I’ve played a little lap steel myself, although I’m not very good at it. I’m still learning. I’m good on six-string acoustic and electric, though. :grinning:

@Phoenix This might be one of the best threads on the forum. Thanks for this video. He is great. I don’t know how I missed this song when it was recorded , must have been off on one of my adventures. Here is another version I just found.

I think I will waste the rest of the day watching videos from ShinyRibs

He has so much live stuff and a nearly endless variety, from his own songs, covers, old standards, and more that it’s hard to pick what to post. I will just pick one and hope everyone likes it. j So here we go, this is one of my favorites.https://youtu.be/DICAkBT7mWQ

I lived in Texas for a long time . I’ve seen ZZ TOP so many times, I can’t even begin to count them. I saw ZZ Top this year when they played Arizona Bike Week! :sunglasses: (Cheap sunglasses.) :sunglasses:

And yes, Shinyribs do cover ZZ TOP:

I’m coming back to this thread. I’m a real fan of Steve Earle.

This video of Steve Earle’s song, “Ben McCulloch” was not made by Steve Earle. He recorded the song, but someone on the internet made the video.

Tom Waits video from 2012.

“Hell Broke Luce”

He made this video when the results of the war in Iraq had become perfectly clear.
