Next time you’re at Trader Joe’s…pickup some Fig & Olive Crisps and some White Stilton Cheese with Apricots….yummmmmm…
Halfway done. Gettin ready to wrap em up for the last 4 hrs.
May have found the maximum rib capacity of this bbq…
Eatin’ good in my neighborhood tonight! This is what’s left of the big chunk of prime rib my girl dropped off earlier. I’ve had 3 big slices and all 3 dogs have had a couple, too! She came in complaining about her worthless boyfriend, again. She’s a petite lil’ thing-cute as a button and if only she were a little older (28) or if I were a little younger (64) I’d pretty much snatch her right up! Her last job was working at a landscaping company owned by a couple where the wife is even younger and the hubby is my age. She somehow managed to bring them up again before she left so… who knows? I really got to do some serious thinking on this…
I eat very little pasta. But my aunt loves spaghetti. So i surpised her for supper by making spaghetti. The noodles are from a box. The sauce and meatballs are fresh and homemade. Made some cheesy butter garlic toast to go with it.
@HandyDave
Nice meal, you can spot home made spaghetti sauce, when I see seeds in it.
Ever notice you will not typically find tomato seeds in canned sauces, not sure why that is?
Most of the sauces on the shelf has been processed to hell and back and strained several times. And if you get the kind in a can it allways has that metal taste from where the acid of tomato sauce is eating at the can. But a fresh homemade marinara cant be beat.
My girl came by again this evening with another big chunk of prime rib and some VERY yummy salmon. Sorry, no pics as m and the dogs polished it off and quickly! Said the head chef tried out a new recipe. It was the best yet! I could tell she had on fresh makeup and was looking extra good tonight! First time I’ve seen her wearing it after an 8 hour shift. She’s one of those rare women that I think actually look much better without makeup than with it. Says she’s about to run boyfriend off permanently. I said I hated to hear it but I understood. Still thinking real hard about the situation…Figure I’ll wait until they actually split and go from there.
Good strategic move…
Trying out the new recipe, well you know what i meant. LOL
I thought I got burned. Just bought this steak spice.
CHARBON DE BOIS / STEAK
It looks like charcoal but I found out it isn’t so much so.
Here are the ingredients:
Salt, Sugar, Monosodium Glutamate, Hydrolyzed Soy and wheat Protein, Onion Powder, Canola Oil, Garlic Powder, Natural Smoke Flavor, Silicon Dioxide, Color, Spice Extractive, may contain sulphites.
So if it doesn’t have charcoal in it then I’m assuming the “Color” must be black die of some sort? It taste like smoky spice, that’s for sure, Natural Smoke Flavor… Interesting. It was kind of a pain on cleanup and the steaks looked burned/charred. I’m wondering how safe it is to eat???
Anybody use a charcoal steak spice?

Never used anything like that. I do use a little liquid smoke from time to time for that nice grilled smokey kick. https://www.amazon.com/Colgin-Assorted-Liquid-Smoke-Gift/dp/B00H5WG6IG/ref=asc_df_B00H5WG6IG/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=475812023184&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4515647350540792520&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9009549&hvtargid=pla-595177016099&psc=1
There is NO substitute for a chunk or two of hickory wood added to a pile of burning charcoal… Just sayin’
