Any of you use the Performance Services Gen 2 castle nut? or is it even a worthy upgrade
Thanks
I wish I knew about this! Mine was loose from the factory! I would have did this! I couldn’t believe there are no threads on the back of the receiver! I might still do this down the road! Thanks for posting Ken!
So to answer your question, in my opinion it’s worth doing!

Or you can just run yours 3/4 through with a band saw…
Pretty much everything this outfit sells is really expensive, but is looking more and more like something I should consider
Hey TT, I didn’t see the below earlier regarding the castle nut
“The Performance Services Kel Tec Sub 2000 Quick Detach Single Point Sling Mount is required to attach the Modified Castle Nut to your rifle and is sold separately”
It’s the old Ching Ching Ching
So Ken, you can only install the Castell nut if you get the sling mount? I’m guessing this nut cuts threads into the rear of the receiver, or how does it install, if not?
I’m still interested, I guess you would need to shorten the buffer tube pad a little.
TT
It just allows relief in the nut body, for clamping pressure to squeeze, locking it in place.
