I bought a 33 round RWB magazine for my sub 2000. First day out of the box, I loaded it halfway and it worked. Second time I filled it, spring got caught up didn’t feed any rounds pull the mag out, rounds fell out all over the floor. Tried the second time same results. I should’ve known better!
I talk to the company who sold me it, I got my money back told me to keep the piece of junk! I found on the Internet. You can replace the spring a with r a Wolff 77361 spring and get it to work however, everybody seems to be sold out. I did find a Wolff 77364 spring which was a multi pack of springs. But nobody can confirm if it’s the same spring with a different last number because it’s more than one spring. Anyone ever had this issue and replaced the spring with good results?
When I was at the outdoor range, one of the ranger officers came by and saw what was happening and recommended these ATS 32 round magazines. I ordered two of them. They look very well-built. They loaded with ease. I have yet to try them until next week. But they have the look and feel of a much higher quality. I know there’s probably nothing like a genuine Glock magazine, but I always like to buy stuff at a better price with close to the same performance. This is really not a self-defense weapon for me. It’s more of a fun target shooting weapon.
I have 2 that I purchased a couple years ago. Haven’t used them much except to cut down on reloading time whilst plinking. Both have worked fine so far…
I have a couple factory glock 17 round mags for my sub2k. But majority of my mags are Korean made kci mags including my 50 round drum. I havent had any issues with any of them. Of course with anything including factory parts and even american made stuff there will be a bad egg every once in awhile.
Spring came today, I swapped it out. The follower on this mag is really cheaply made! Anyway, after a few tries I was able to figure out how to get it back together. I’ve done about 12 + mag/round extensions in the past, so I’m a little familiar how to do this, it’s not rocket science, but with this one, I had to put the spring base plate onto the base of the magazine, push down on the spring and hold my thumb over the spring while I slid the base and base plate over the spring and let it pop into place. The base plate would not snap on to the spring, Very weird, at least compared to others I’ve done.
I loaded it and popped them out twice with my thumb, felt totally different right away. Will not be able to test it until later on this week, but the new wolf spring seems to be the fix. Will check back in and let y’all know!
