Head spacing issues, I think

My SCR Raider 50 Beowulf feeds and ejects fine when firing.
But the extractor doesn’t grab a chambered live round at all.
I guess when firing, the blowback pushes the cartridge back.
Or the firing pin is pushing the bolt forward enough to grab it.

Anyone think of a fix for this, or does it need to be head spaced?
I’ve changed uppers, due to another issue. Didn’t help with this.

how many rounds thru it brother, and on ejected rounds what does the extractor bite look like? also, is that the one you took the fwd assist off due to thumb bite? what buffer and spring you running in that puppy? you might be not fully engaging the extractor before hammer…

I’ve only shot a handful of rounds through it. Yeah, same gun that bit me.
It has a proprietary buffer system built into that bird head grip.

the spring on the extractor probably not broken in. probably. if it going to battery to fire, and your not bulging splitting cases, popping primers ect, i doubt if its headspace, but a set of go-nogo headspace guages aint that expensive, if your going to use them a lot.
if you are getting no indication from the casings of a issue, i would shoot it around 50 rounds, check it again. i think you just need break in on it. it is a odd bird.

I’m taking it with me on my trip so hopefully I get to shoot it.
Before I go, I’m gonna put it on another lower and carrier.
Just to see if it works then I might switch it back or maybe not.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think you might be right.

Switched out the lowers and bolt carrier, still have the same problem.
I’m gonna try the BCG out of my rifle, see if that one works, next.

tends to eat at ya when you got a issue dont it brother, chasing out the second KAK right now. stutter issue. built both at the same time, using all the same internal parts. same brand lowers. “NO BETO 15” same trigger group, same safety same deadfoot, 50 rounds it stutters. 1 of em. same one every time cools off same. gotta be the sear engagement.
change trigger group out this morning and test again.

No help, still the same.

Forgot to update. The issue was head spacing, but by design, I guess.
The barrel manufacturer head spaced these barrels for 7.62x39.
A little heads-up from the mfg would have been a nice touch.
But anyways, a simple bolt swap fixed the issue.

At least 7.62x39 is still available.

If you mean 7.62x39 ammo, won’t do me any good with this one.
It’s a 50 Beowulf. But 7.62x39 bolts are still very available.
The x39 is the mother casing for the Beowulf, same rim diameter.
But the Beowulf bolt is cupped a bit deeper than a 7.62x39 bolt.
This is where the head spacing issue comes into play.
