G.A.S. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome)

The IWI Jericho 941

This firearm has really got my attention. All reviews I’ve seen are very favorable. The metal frame mid size version is definitely on “The List”, I’m seeing prices around 550-600 online. At that price and the great reviews it’s moving to the top of the list not 1st but close.

These people aren’t your friends, @phuzzy42. They are not here to help you. This is like the inverse of AA but for firearms, they operate as a collective and their sole purpose is to poison your mind with thoughts of new guns…they won’t stop, they can’t be stopped. Breathe deeply, relax, don’t fight it…it will only make things more difficult…

@ValorSolo That handguard looks sick on your AR9!
@AV8R That looks really awesome! Kinda like a 1911! I like it.

GOT IT!
My G.A.S. has been relieved temporarily, feels good!
This BRC is not gonna help! Probably induce more G.A.S.

Very similar to a 1911, certainty shares some DNA. As a JMB initial design you can see the lineage in the gun.

I’ll have to try some of that coffee, it looks really good!

Very nice new Sig!! Congratulations :+1:t3:

I’ve absolutely got this filthy disease, and the symptoms are awful at the moment.

Before I get into my purchases I’ll just mention that in tacticalgear circles, AR500 and steel plates in general aren’t well loved. Steel is heavy, and spalls, which means you could get shrapnel in sensitive places if you take a hit. There are coatings that can deal with that, but it’s not perfect.

Ceramic is widely considered the way to go. Here’s a link to some popular certified special threat plates that’ll stop common semi auto calibers.

And here’s some certified level IV.

Both will take some time, but probably less than AR500. Both also have kits bundled with a basic carrier.

Just something to look into. I went with uncertified Botach level IV plates (ceramic) for about $220. I plan to upgrade to certified RMA plates down the line.

Ok on to my filthy gear addition.

This is the big one, plate carrier with chest rig, bump helmet, gloves, and “tactical clothing”. I’ve got a gunbelt (VTAC Raze) but I’m waiting on a holster and mag carriers to arrive. I do have a Dark Angel Medical IFAK for it. I don’t think I have a picture of that.

But I’ve also been “prepping” with stuff like a Sawyer water filter

And lighters, compact emergency stove, and lots of food.

Also a new Beretta .32 Tomcat, holster, and grips. That’s just my gun addiction.

Just ordered a few Gerber Suspension multitools.

I enjoy guns and tactical Gear mostly, but current events have me paying more attention to camping and survival stuff.

My wife is pretty cool about me buying tools because she thinks I must have them to fix projects around the house, so whenever I want, and need, to buy another gun I just tell her I am going to the hardware store to buy a new tool; she hasn’t caught on yet.
Remember, a gun is also a tool, LOL!
