Finally drew my moose tag

After a couple decades of trying, I finally drew for a bull moose in Idaho. No points system here, so it can take 20 or more years to draw. I wanted to get a new rifle in 6.8 western, but they won’t start shipping until late Aug, and most of them have been pre-ordered, so I will probably try with the bow or my 308.

@Niskibum Congratulations! I’ve known folks that have applied for decades as well, and have yet to get one. Good luck!

Just asking, do you have anything larger than 308.
You might call in a good sized bull. Just saying.
BTW, not sure if you will be hunting in the rut, but I found calling has always been most successful. If your good you can call them in form several miles out.
Congrats and best of luck. Fill that tag!

I’d really want more than a 308.

Good luck filling the tag. Moose is good eatin.

Cool, a 6 legged moose, don’t see that every day!

FYI, I drew a tag also…

Someone needs to tell the homeowner that’s not a dog… :grinning:

Congrats Moosecall, although I’m not sure that’s as difficult to draw up north.

The draw system has changed, thinking for the better but time will tell.
I can accept the tag or pass and try again next year with additional points (point score draw system).

Hope Rocky hasn’t informed Bullwinkle that tag,he’s it. :sunglasses:

Best thing about Bullwinkle is his antlers, like a couple of yellow highway cones, just aim right in the middle of them. :flushed:

Hoo-rah!!! :+1:
I live in southern Idaho. In 44 years I have never drawn an elk tag.

One of my buddies (who is overly lucky at draw hunts. 3 elk and 4 deer in 8 years) and his brother both drew Moose tags this year.
