@hunter1916 Thanks! I’d say our welds are the same lol. All I have is flux core and it makes welding thin wall stuff difficult.

Got lots done today. I fixed the left side brace, all is good now. Got the removable toung mount welded in and the under bracing done. Bended the tongue and welded on some rebar bracing. Midway through my welding helmet auto darken function died  . That was a expense I didn’t need. Need to make a brace for the tongue, my ammo can spare parts mount and the hitch receiver for the bike. I didn’t take pics, but my sister got one of me fabbing up the tongue.

As I was cleaning up a damn hawk got under the shade netting. I don’t know exactly what happened, but the chickens made a hell of a noise and I saw the hawk fly away. Small one, a bit smaller then the chickens themselves. Could have been drinking from the barrel waterer?

@hunter1916 Thanks! Funny thing is, since the beginning of they year there have been shopping carts all over the place! But luckily Wal-Mart is very far from where I live!

@DivaMarie Thanks too! Yeah I bet stink eye did do that! I did check them out for injuries, none thankfully!

Today is a rest day, to damn sore to do tasks. Tomorrow building will commence.

One of my first company jobs was kmart when i was a much younger man. And i had to retrieve carts when i wasnt stocking shelves. And once a week me and another guy would have to go down the street about 1/4 mile at some crackhead apartments and push all the carts back to store. By end of week there wouldnt be enough left at store for customers. And your welding looks alot better then any weld ive ever thrown down. Most of things ive welded are still together but i think its cause there scared to be welded on again.

@HandyDave @CatFood when we where kids the local supermarkets paid for stolen trollies to be returned so to make a few bob we would trudge around the local area and collect them we also borrowed them [you would say stole] bring them around the block and back again and get paid for them  :innocent:

Lots of progress made today on the cart. Got the tongue finished with bracing. Got the left side harness pole fabbed up. And made the hitch with a exhaust clamp and a heim joint. Only tools required is a flat blade screw driver to move the painters pole when adjusting height of hips. Going to use a H harness I have for pulling the cart without a bike.

@CatFood now all you need is a chinaman to pull you round the streets [as in rickshaw]

@hunter1916 True! That would be really funny. Was also thinking it’s like a modern day roman chariot, pulled by a bike and not a horse. Maybe I should add those spiked hubs after all…

@CatFood aah but who will peddle the bike while your in the chariot

I would deffently add the spiked hubs since your in commifornia. Maybe a spike dropper and oil slick out the back. Possibly a smoke screen for covert getaways. Maybe deconstruct the bike seat and make it fold open with a very well hidden compartment for a small 9mm.

Well folks, the cart is officially done! Everything is welded up and mounted. Though I had a incident with the grinder and it cut one of the rims spokes. So off to the bike shop to get a few spares. Now it’s tear down time for paint. Went with the best (lol) Ace hardware “professional” machinery gray (actually this stuffs pretty good). It would appear we are having a shortage of spray paints here in kommiefornia. And it would appear they axed most of the spray paints that can be sold here too!

Wanted to paint it flat khaki or some type of camo, but they can’t sell it here any more I guess. Crap home depot doesn’t even lock the spray paints anymore.

Got the spare parts ammo can mounted to the front using some leftover cart pieces. I didn’t snap any pics, not much difference from yesterday’s pics. Had some welding slang burn my arm good.

And a chicken ripped off one of it’s toe nail. So that was a bit of a fiasco catching it, cleaning it. But we’re constantly getting 8 eggs a day. And in tired.

My dad headed to our family place at coast this weekend to have a yard sale and relax a little before his shoulder surgery next week. I couldnt make the trip with him but did whip up some beach inspired coozies for him to take and sale for me. Everybody down in our little community just spends all day riding around on there golf carts and drinking. So i figured what better place to sale some custom coozies.

Painted the cart today. Waiting for it to cure. Also had to cover the chicken run, and add fencing to prevent them from flying the coup. We even trimmed one wing flight feathers. So tomorrow we will see if they get out!

This might explain the paint shortage-and a lot of others: California has record number of container ships waiting off coast

Have You Tried just Yelling ‘‘HAWK’’ :joy: Cart looks good’ Is that Stink Eye with his Ass to the Camera?

@SnuffySmiff That would explain it probably. Though was told by ace and home depot that a lot of paints were removed from resale in kommiefornia due to “green house gases” or some bs

@DivaMarie I don’t know if that is her or not. They all look the same lol. I can only tell 2 apart. One has bluish grey eyes and one has the smallest comb/waddle. Spent some time with them today. Tilling up the ground where the corn was and they were feasting on the grubs and worms. Thanks! Cart is done and just finished the H harness setup. Last thing is to tie up the string to pull the disconnects. And take it for a test pull. Both bicycle and by walking.
