When I clean mags for 10/22 I also check the spring tensions.
I got my shortened 10/22 (24" to 18") barrel back yesterday. At first (top row) I thought OH CRAP then it settled in.
Bottom row. left to right
Remington, CCI Stingers (there was no one else on range so I let RSO shoot the 12oz TK trigger with just over .050" travel) RSO’s Remington ammo…
The flier on the center bottom target was from a previous target.
Must be doing something right, wife bought me new glass for the unicorn. Turns out the parallax adjustment ring was just touching the hand guard. A half round file and some 220-grit made short work of the clearance issue. I really didn’t want to go with taller rings and upset my cheek weld.
My Form 1 was approved in less than two weeks.
So my PSA AK 105 is now a SBR.
I installed an ALG Elite trigger, PSA side folding stock and RS Regulate side mount. Waiting for a Primary Arms SLx-3 to ship and then I can run this little guy in all it’s 5.45 x 39 goodness!
Parked the carbon steel frame, beavertail, and chen magwell then microslick on the rails, midnight bronze on the frame, and graphite black on the beaver and magwell
Started polishing the stainless slide.
Beautiful. That’s a work of art. I really like the flat surfaces with no engraving, letters, numbers etc. It would be cool if the slide catch and mag release were understated also.
Slide does look nice like that, but I think Im going to do some fishscale or shark gill serrations at the back for grip, nothing on the front, and a flat top treatment. Maybe bevel the bottom edge.
Plunger tube, slide release, thumb safety will be glass bead blasted stainless. Same with the round over above the slide flats.
fits nice and tight. Open and closes like a dream.
Now, to pull the bear down and swap the barrel, gas system and bcg over. Seen a nice 15.5” handguard in matching blue as well for a decent price…
6” 300B with Deadfoot 2.5” with collapsible pistol brace, 7” handguard, ambidextrous safety, mag release, and charging handle, B5 grip, but undecided on the optic.
Waiting on tracking numbers and pondering optics options.
Cool. Deadfoot good people. Product works, kind of a pain to brake down receiver. The spring guide was not concentric to the cap on one they sent me and they replaced no questions asked.
