This is a warning to all my American Brothers. A horrible crime was committed in Canada today. The Liberal government by order in council banned over 1500 firearms. Without any debate in parliment or public consultation they banned these guns in the name of public safety. gone are all ar15 varients including the ar10. gone is the Beretta Storm, scorpion evo, all mini 14 and varients all .50 bmg’s and many more. They also announce that there are more coming. You guys south of the border have the second ammendment, You need to do everything in your power to protect it. Im sure none of you want to wake up one day and find that your firearms are now illegal, Like I did today.
@Rob2 So how are they working that there’s no grandfather law at all? Are they doing voluntary turn ins, confiscations how exactly is this unfolding?
Think I read there’s a 2 year grace period for “current law-abiding gun owners”, keeping them from criminal charges and apparently giving the government time to come up with a monetary compensation scheme…presumably to avoid being hanged high, drawn and quartered by the general population.
I never met a Canadian citizen I didn’t like and I really feel for you guys/gals in the Great White North, particularly with the passing of this legislation (and I use the terms “passing” and “legislation” lightly). Trudeau said "Canadians deserve more than thoughts and prayers”, I think Canadians deserve a leader with a set of balls, big brass ones. Seems a rather cowardly move that solves nothing and will likely be difficult to enforce. The problem is people, not guns. We haven’t banned cars because of fatal accidents and DUI’s have we? Oddly enough, many more people die by motor vehicle than by mass shooting.
I feel like if this were to happen in the US, a 2nd civil war would commence almost immediately. As it should be. Rest assured there are some in power here in the states that are taking cues from this breaking development, be aware as it can happen anywhere…
Sucks for Canuks. Far as I’m concerned, Canuk expats are welcome in Texas.
And I pre-emptively ordered a Matador Arms Mag-X so I don’t have to wait for their move south to build a 9mm AR that spits from CZ 75 mags. Looks like their leader is try’n to make’m a t-shirt company 'cause that’s the only market their serving that wasn’t tanked.
Hope Mr. Abbot (my Governor) is in Canada courting their disenfranchised industry.
@flogrown. first theres a 2 year grace period for legal owners now. In that two years they can be nothing more than safe queens. The libtards have to go through parliment to be able to get the funds to offer a buy back. They are trying to sell the public on the fact this will cost 250 million when the truth is they have no idea about the number of guns over all. they have no idea how many non restricted firearms that they just banned are in Canada. The restricted ones are all regristared so they know the numbers down to a tee. There is talk about offering a grandfather clause where you can apply to keep them until your death or you decide to surrender. I think only an idiot would do this because that gives them a exact idea on what you have and where you live. In my mind that makes it really easy for the RCMP to kick in your door and take your guns, like what they did in “the high river gun grab”. I know that the Alberta government is planning on bringing in there own CFO and pretty much block what the feds have just done. This whole thing has a chance to get very ugly. The Alberta seperatist movement is growing everyday despite what is reported in the news and this is just a very big stick added to the camels back and might be the one to break it. I know a lot of guys who say they will not surrender any of them. I also know a few Police officers who have said they are not willing to try and start seizing guns from legal owners. Its a perfect mess
@Rob2 what at mess man. I thought it was terrible before, this is just really idiocy at its finest. The moron says you don’t need an AR to take down a deer. Ya duh dumbass it’s not my hunting rifle it’s part of my home defense system. I will never surrender one single any of mine ever, ever ever ever ever. I would rather fall holding a rifle than hand one to my enemy
it gets better. I was just looking at the news, overnight the price of a buy back has gone from 250 to 600 million and they want to bring in red flag laws. they are using the shooting in N.S. as a reason for all of this. at first they said the guy had a shotgun a rifle and two handguns. Now they are saying he had two rifles and two handguns. They wont say what the guns are but are telling people they are on the new ban list. sounds like misdirection to me. All the news are reporting that this what the majority want, when the pollls show that only toronto, montreal and vancouver are in support. all cities with high numbers of gang shootings involving you got it illegal guns. just for everyones info, it is already illegal to hunt with a ar15, they can only be shot legally at a government approved range.
This. It’s always the metro areas. Same where I’m at, everyone pays the price for the violence in Baltimore and DC…and they aren’t actually trying to fix the gang violence, only using it as an excuse to confiscate the guns from law-abiding citizens.
It is Gestapo tactic’s, and it is starting to happen here in the U.S. Liberals are telling people what to do, how to do it where you can and cannot go. Stay home and become a Zombie. Don’t do this, don’t do that. I have the GOD GIVEN RIGHT to live my life the way I see fit. PERIOD!
I’m with ya on that brother! I’ll give them every round first! And thats A Lot!
@Shanedog I don’t care at all seriously, the Constitution was put in place for a reason and the bill of rights were installed as a measure of permissive power to the people. I will not be handing mine over. People had to fight and die to make it that way and keep it that way and I will do the same. People that are in history books for rebelling against tyrannical law overstepping their bounds, these days would be made to look like nut jobs with guns
Which begs the question, “How is it that some states in the union see fit to pass laws in direct violation of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, yet nothing is done to squash those corrupt laws at the federal level?”. Last time I checked, no state had the authority to supersede either of those documents or their declarations, in whole or part. They should be hamstrung, the fed should pull all funding of any kind from any state committing such a violation until the laws are repealed. Things would change overnight, methinks…seeing as money lubes the wheels of government…
They have gotten away with it because the state militias and the 3 percenters and so on have no way to organize a National response to the laws. Organization and planning tactics are the key to even begining to have a chance IMO. I was in my local branch of my state militia for a brief period. Didn’t take me long to figure out that they would do nothing but hold me back. They basically explained and admitted to me that if there was any conflict with government that they wouldn’t stand a chance and would basically wave the white flag. That was my last meeting
Many more people die from snakebite than from mass shootings. Many more die from medical mistakes too. Many millions more die from communism/socialism, which is what this is.
…about 250,000 per year in the US alone…I use that one frequently in debates…
Possibly, but what I’m getting at is the gutlessness of the fed. This is a very basic premise, no state can circumvent the Constitution and Bill of Rights, and just about every state gun law does so. Is violence the only viable solution? Well, that remains to be seen. But it seems to me that the system already has provisions to address this, the fed needs to grow a sack and give the states in question a healthy body check. I suppose therein lies the rub, while we have a Republican President, the congress is a Democrat/liberal majority. My personal politics aside (I’m neither, unless we’re talking gun control), as long as the lawmakers are liberal in majority, they’ll never shut down the states for passing this kind of tripe because they agree with it. Still doesn’t change the fact that it violates the Constitution and Bill of Rights. If this issue was infringement on 1st amendment rights, you can bet there would be action. The issue there is that you can’t cherry-pick amendments, they must all be address with the same consideration. Seems “our leaders” have forgotten this…
What amendment was violated when outdoor church services with people in their cars, windows rolled up, were prohibited? What amendment was violated when people were arrested protesting outside of government buildings merely for being there? Every Constitutional right is under attack. The only one that might get people to rise up is the 21st. Why do you think liquor and marijuana stores were deemed “essential” but buying garden supplies was verboten?
Probably because those two items are pacifiers, keeps the ignorant unwashed masses (that’d be us) in line and easier to control. The 1st wasn’t necessarily violated with the church service thing, people were still allowed to worship, just not in large groups. Religion is a personal thing, you can do it on your own, but at one point you couldn’t even do that without being persecuted.
But your point stands, and, in fact is what I use when I get into a debate on gun control (something I try to avoid, it’s like trying to piss out a forest fire after drinking a sixer, exercise in futility). It’s as simple as this, if they can do it to the 2nd (possibly via the 4th), what’s to stop them doing it to the rest? Usually shuts up the liberal-minded in the group rather quickly. Give them an inch, they will take a mile…it just takes time.
Those people had their license plate numbers taken and police blocked cars from going into the parking lot. What about Wilhelm DeBlasio threatening to arrest the Jewish people holding a funeral for a rabbi, yet celebrated moslems who, incidentally, have NEVER stopped holding their services? Northam in Virginia passed lots of new gun laws IN SPITE of the protests. The politicians have used the virus to see how far they can push us before we start pushing back, and so far they’ve gotten away with everything they’ve tried.
And think about it… this is just virus #1. Every two-bit dictator and terrorist - and the deep state - has seen how easy and effective it is.
And now I’ll shut up. I didn’t intend to get into the politics. Sorry.
