M*CARBO Brotherhood

Budget AR build?

So I’m looking to get a budget AR and most of the diamond ARs that are in the low 500 range are all sold out backorders full and have been sold out for a while.

I don’t know of a cheaper AR than a diamondback at this point. Honestly they all seem the same to me they’re black they take a big 30 round mag and they go bang.

Does anybody know of any sites or lists that have a complete budget AR build parts list would be a kit or a couple of kits we put together for sub $500 ar?

I’m building 2 pistols right now and the parts added up to around $900 each. Other than the barrel there is nothing high end on them either. Now is a bad time to try to do a budget build everything is high.

Be careful of going too budget minded. Everyone and his brother is building AR parts and there is a lot of junk out there. I cannot begin to tell you how many lowers I have seen a mag will not even fit. Uppers and lowers that do not fit together etc. I have seen uppers a bolt carrier will not fit.

As already said, its a bad time to be looking for deals in AR stuff.

What part of the country are you in?

I would say in todays market 700 would be more feasible for a budget build that would function and be a decent firearm. You go with a poly 80% lower from ep armory find a good lower build kit for around 150 to 250 and get a decent budget complete upper from someone like bear creek for 350 to 450. There is a ready to fire decent budget ar for around 700 range. That same ar last year or year before would have been 450 500 range. Bear creek is north carolina company and ive used several of there uppers and havent had any problems speacially for the price.

psa had complete blemished uppers for 350$ last week, find a 80% lower std psa stock @ tube, shockwave blade if pistol seebn LPKs going for under 75 and a truglo red dot. add ammo and mags. you will be under 500$ i built one last year for about 280$ but i had a lot of take off parts i used. bought classic barrel and sampson sights, and a boom can.had everything else.
my main problem is i end up with a mt lower. then i decide ,welll i will put that lower parts kit in it so i keep it together.
then i find a brace or stock on sale or on swap.
then i get a MT noreen upper to drop on it just to keep it clean.

then it travels from there.

and they is a spare LPK i pick up at the next gun show. which is this weekend.
and it starts again…

I’ve ordered from here a few times. More of a distributor for FFLs but you can order directly from them and save $

I like Anderson’s receivers all 4 I have fit tight. I’ve never ordered a complete upper or gun though only stripped receivers.
